Art Therapy

An established mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. It is based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight.          Art Psychotherapy

Expressive therapy that combines creative art making with traditional psychotherapy theories and techniques. The professionally trained art psychotherapist provides a receptive and non-judgmental environment where the client can feel comfortable expressing thoughts and feelings. Art Psychotherapists are trained to recognize non-verbal symbols within the creative process that may be difficult to express with words alone. By helping the client discover underlying thoughts and feelings, and what the art means to them, the client can gain valuable insight, fulfillment, and a better understanding of themselves and how they relate to others
